In Australia people of all ages are mad about sports. They really love it. As a result the Australians won the Olympic Games in 2000. Although it has a small number of population, Australia presented many sportsmen of worldwide fame. It has a strong swimming team. Australian tennis players repeatedly won the international competitions, including the Davis Cup. Golf and cricket are very popular in Australia.

Also Australia has its small version of football – footy. The European football is widespread here too. Basketball has become more popular during the last decades, which was a result of American Basketball League competition. Yachting, water sports and fishing are popular too.
