Peta Wilson is a daughter of retired officer, Wilson Darcy, and deliverer of food, Carlene White. She was born in Sydney, Australia, but has changed a number of places where to live, until she became a thirteen year-old child. Changing her schools every six months, Peta learned to adjust her individuality and find new friends, which played a great part in her life.
This is what Peta’s mother, Carlene, says about her daughter’s childhood: “At the age of two she has already been able to clean her room by herself. During that she was moving her lips, imagining that she was Lisa Minelli.”
At the age of five, while living in Papua New-Guinea, Peta got ill with malaria. After that grandmother Elizabeth started to take great care of her grandchild’s physical health. She woke her up at four a.m., poured with cold water, cooked scanty breakfast and sent to train in a basketball section. Some years later, at school, Peta started her judo training. Her charming mother had been seriously disturbed, because her daughter was becoming boyish. That’s why Peta started to take dance lessons, but she didn’t like it and so started to skip them. Mother bought her beautiful dresses, but Peta used them as beddings for her pets.
Father saw, that mother was a little bit nervous, but he was proud of his daughter. Peta was his elder son and right hand. With her and Rob they had won a river regatta and got a prize, which Peta’s father still keeps as a memory: the toilet seat. Mr. Wilson shared his favorite hobby with Peta – the old cars, and, because the old motors have been nowhere to place, they were kept in his daughter’s room. She adored that metal, and ever since then the main hobbies of her life have become old cars. Now she has three of them: “Chevrolet” of 1958, “Ford” of 1957 and “Dodge” of 1938 – her favorite one. Peta rides only her old “Dodge”, and her answer to a question if she had a normal car is: “What do you call a normal car? All these modern toys?” Peta would gladly widen her own auto park, but she hasn’t got any free time yet, because all of her cars she repairs by herself.
At the age of five Peta and her mother celebrated the New Year in a hotel. Any musicians did not perform that day, but Peta did. She jumped up to a stage and started to sing and dance. Therefore, she had a great success.
Seven years later her parents divorced. But still they interferes their daughter’s life. Every Peta’s boyfriend had been seriously checked. She was the youngest women basketball player in Australian national basketball team. In Europe Peta became a famous model, but some years later she removed to Los Angeles.
There she met Demean Harris, with whom fell in love and again removed to Hollywood. Peta attended actor courses and soon got some independent roles in «Loser», «One of Our Own», «Strangers».
By 1996 she was going to leave Los Angeles and get a job in New York and studying in the theatre. But before that Peta’s agent asked her to attend the casting to “La Femme Nikita”, a new serial of USA Network, based on Luke Besson’s film. Without any hopes, Peta went to the casting and… she got the main role in that serial instead of other two hundred actresses!
That serial helped Peta to achieve a great success in her career. The next film with her was “Mercy”.
In June of 2001 she was invited to XXIII Moscow International Cinema Festival, where she was honored to open it.
After some months, in June of 2002 Peta was shooting in «The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen». Her heroine was Mina Harker, a woman – vampire.
Peta’s bright individuality made her a famous superstar. She has been a guest in many popular talk shows, her photos have been sold by such magazines like «People», «InStyle», «Details», «Gear», «Flare». In her free time Peta likes to swim, ride horses, play cricket and draw.
